Since qualifying as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Medara has been steadily building up her Corporate and Commercial Law experience. She was the In House Legal Officer of PML Holdings Limited in Abuja where she advised numerous investment clients on business formation; structures; and corporate transactions and was actively involved in the incorporation and registration process of Business Names (Sole Proprietorships and Partnerships), Companies and Incorporated Trustees in Nigeria through the Corporate Affairs Commission. She was also responsible for facilitating the Group’s contractual processes between its foreign investor clients and government agencies and partners. She drafted and negotiated various forms of commercial contracts including consultancy agreements, joint venture agreements, MOUs, commercial leases and long term gas sale and purchase agreements. She was also involved in the project and contractual management of key investment ventures, ensuring the successful achievement of milestones and deliverables.
Medara was previously employed by Lyons Davidson Solicitors in the United Kingdom where she gained invaluable experience within the firm’s Insurance Litigation Department. Her experience in private practice in Nigeria has been further enhanced by the work placements she obtained in the firms of Solomon Umoh (SAN) & Co, and Dr J. Y. Musa & Co, both of which are situated in the Federal Capital Territory.
At Cogens, Medara’s focus is on Corporate and Commercial Law. She is a valued member of the team.
